Scholarship Opportunity


Jake Lee and the attorneys at the Summit Disability Law Group in Draper, Utah, are offering a $1,000 scholarship for individuals who have been affected by a disability. To qualify for the scholarship:

  1. You must currently be enrolled in or have been accepted to (and planning to attend) a college or university in the United States.
  2. You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA in the current or most recent secondary education program you have attended.
  3. You must have a physician documented disability.
The deadline for application submissions is August 1, 2017.

Nursing Schools Almanac has just launched its third annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. The website will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates:

  • A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics
  • A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare 

This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. Scholarship applications will be accepted until midnight on June 30, 2017.

Graduation's Around the Corner. . . Order your gown now!

ALL graduates MUST rent a graduation gown if they plan to participate in the graduation ceremony! Even if you'd prefer to order invitations/announcements and other things elsewhere, you must still go through Herff Jones to rent the gown. The $45 cost includes tax as well as the keepsake cap and tassel.

Caps and gowns will be delivered to the school in the spring. If you're scheduling senior portraits before they arrive and want to borrow a BHS gown, please come by the Counseling Office to get it arranged.

Now Open: 2017 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program


High school seniors who demonstrate exceptional leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship are invited to apply for the 2017 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. This program annually provides college-bound students with $10,000 renewable scholarships-up to $40,000 total per recipient-and supports them as they lead and serve in college and beyond.

Applications for the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program will be accepted online until January 5, 2017. Additional information, eligibility requirements, and a link to the application are available online. You may also follow us on Facebook.

Please remind your 10th and 11th grade students who signed up for the PSAT  they are responsible for bringing their own calculator for the PSAT Exam on October 19thI have attached the Acceptable Calculator Information for your convenience.  The students may talk to their math teacher about possibly checking out a calculator if they do not have access to one at home. It is the students responsibility, just as it would be if they took the SAT or ACT on a national test day.

US Coast Guard Academy Admissions Workshop

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy is holding a CGA admissions workshop in San Antonio at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on October 11th. Highlights include an asset tour and the opportunity to speak to current cadets and admissions officers.

Located in New London, Connecticut, the Coast Guard Academy is an accredited college educating future Coast Guard officers to serve their country and humanity. Tuition free, the Academy offers a total, integrated life experience available nowhere else and is ranked as the top undergraduate program in the northeastern United States. Graduates earn a degree, officer commission, and job in America's oldest continuous maritime service.

Students who reside within the boundaries of Boerne Independent School District are eligible for enrollment in the district's schools. The district does not accept tuition students from outside of its boundaries except in extenuating circumstances. BISD has two high schools.
