Advanced Placement Exam Registration

Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Boerne High School desires that all students take AP exams for the AP classes that they have taken. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.

For the 2017 AP exams, students at Boerne High School will be registering online. This registration will take a few minutes and can be completed from any computer with internet access.
This year each AP exam costs $98.00. Boerne High School desires that every student be able to take their AP exams.  The 2017 AP Exams will be administered at 1910 Church over a two week period in May: May 1 through 5 and May 8 through 12.

Online Exam registration will begin on Wed, Feb 1, 2017 at 12:00 AM and end on Wed, Mar 1, 2017 at 11:59 PM. In order to register, students should click on the link provided on the school website or visit www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/440730 to register. To complete registration, students must answer all of the required questions. Registration is not complete until students have printed the pdf of the confirmation page that is provided at the end. We know that parents may desire to register their students for exams. We strongly recommend that parents and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered.

Boerne High School is excited to continue to offer families the convenience of paying exam fees online at the time of registration. Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration (VISA OR MASTERCARD credit or debit card). Paying online is a great way to make sure that payment has been made while avoiding mailing payment. However, payment may be mailed if preferred. Please note all deadlines for receipt of payment.

Here are the important dates for the registration process:
Wed, Feb 1, 2017 at 12:00 AM - Registration Begins
Wed, Mar 1, 2017 at 11:59 PM - Registration Ends

Thinking about an out-of-state college?

Choosing where to attend for college is like finding a home for four years. These colleges offer overnight, weekend programs so prospective students can get up close and personal to the students and faculty that make up the college. Almost all of the opportunities listed here are expense-paid, while travel assistance can be requested for all others. We highly recommend that you visit your dream school (if it is listed here), as well as at least one safety so you know that you’ll be happy wherever you end up!

These are usually free or have a scholarship for travel if needed if it is not evident on the application (student needs to call and inquire).  Some of these are based on being a student of color/female depending on programming, and some take it into consideration, but don't require.

Most of the dates are for 2016, but it'll give you an idea of what's available.

Click here & here for additional information.

Summer Program: University of Dallas

It’s one thing to read the Great Books…it’s quite another to experience firsthand where many of them took place. In that instant, history comes alive, and you change forever.

The University of Dallas Rome Program has been changing lives for over 45 years with a unique curriculum that combines intensive study of art, architecture, history, literature, theology and philosophy with travel that transports students to the very places where Western civilization first flourished and where Catholic intellectual and spiritual traditions continue to flourish today.

During their semester abroad, students make our Rome campus their “home base” while they travel to places like Florence, Venice, Assisi, Greece and, of course, Rome. They’ll read about Odysseus and Aeneas one day and walk in the footsteps of these ancient heroes the next. They’ll study the techniques used by Michelangelo while standing in front of the Pietà or gazing at the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel. They’ll debate the works of Socrates and Aristotle while walking the same hills the great philosophers trod many millennia ago, experiencing the kind of context that can’t be found in a book and the types of insights rarely found in the classroom.
